Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on 5/6/19. There were 153 children present. Ten children's records and ten staff records were reviewed. Six medications were reviewed for five children in care. Two inspectors arrived at the center at 10:30 am and departed at 5:00 pm. The children were observed during outside times, during free time in the classrooms, during lunch, during nap, and during afternoon activities. All infant activities were observed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-520-A
Description: Baed on observation, the center failed to ensure that over-the-counter skin products were not kept beyond the expiration date of the product. Evidence: 1.There were two sunscreen lotions and two diaper ointments observed in two classrooms that were kept beyond expiration. The expiration dates of the sunscreens were August 2018 and September 2018. The expiration dates of the diaper ointments were November 2015 and March 2019.

Plan of Correction: All of the products will be sent home with the parents or disposed of today.
