Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:00am-1:00pm. At the time of inspection, 49 children three years through five years) were directly supervised by 7 staff and ratios were in compliance. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 5 staff records. Children were observed participating in group play, listening to audio stories before napping, and eating lunch (tortilla, beans, cheese, corn, cinnamon apples, bananas, milk) Hand-washing procedures were also observed before and after lunch. There was an abudant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in medication administration, CPR and First Aid, as well as daily health observation training. Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that water from sinks did not exceed 120 degrees. Evidence: The hot water temperature at the children's sink in the three year old classroom was measured at 125 degrees.

Plan of Correction: A maintenance order will be placed to have the hot water heater temperature adjusted.
