The Licensing Inspector for the YMCA Afterschool Care @ Mt. Olivet conducted an unannounced Monitor Inspection on May 20, 2019. Upon arrival at 3:55 PM there were a total of twenty (20) school age children under the direct care & supervision of four (4) caregivers. Five (5) children records and four (4) staff records were reviewed during today?s inspection. Licensing Inspector observed children during arrival/departure procedures, bathroom/hand washing procedures, group activities, arts and crafts, self-initiated activities and homework/quiet time. Violations found during today's inspection were reviewed with the site Director. The Licensing Inspector for YMCA Afterschool Care @ Mt. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C Description: Based on record review, the Licensee failed to ensure program directors and staff who work directly with children annually attend 16 hours of staff development training that relate to child safety and development and the function of the center EVIDENCE: Licensing Inspector reviewed 4 staff records. 2 out of 4 staff members did not complete a minimum of 16 hours of training within the past year. Staff #2 completed 12 hours and Staff #2 completed 14. Plan of Correction: Staff will complete additional training.
