Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. The twos, preschool, and pre-kindergarten classrooms had areas with chipped and peeling paint. 2. The two year old classroom contained a torn chair with exposed foam. 3. The inspector observed sharp and splintering wood in the mud kitchen as well as exposed sharp metal at the bottom of the fence leading into the garden on the toddler playground. The inspector did not observe any toddlers playing near those areas. Plan of Correction: We will contact engineering and have them fix it today.
