Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed today. The physical plant, annual fire inspection, 5 children's files, children's activities, medications, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 12:15-1:15pm. There were 15 children under the supervision of 2 staff in the Childcare program. The Pre-school program has ended for this school year. Today, the children painted with watercolors, worked in centers (spelling, counting and other various learning activities) played outside, ate lunch and rested during naptime. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. The children bring in their lunches from home each day that they are in care. Staff files are not reviewed on site, but during an annual administrative file review. There are 10 staff currently certified in MAT (medication administration training). Should you have any questions, please contact me at mary.wizbicki@dss.virginia.gov.
