Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 11:50am-1:30pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 95 children in the direct care and supervision of 21 staff members. The first aid kid, emergency materials, evacuation drills, a sample of 3 emergency medications, a sample of 4 staff records, a sample of 9 children's records, and the physical plant were reviewed. Measurements were taken for the additional rooms that the SACC summer camp program is utilizing and the rooms were inspected. The children were observed eating lunch, using the restroom, playing cards, coloring, and participating in a variety of activities. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions, please contact me at shahana.green@dss.virginia.gov .
