Technical Assistance:
Talked with center staff about observing areas and equipment of the center, related to maintaining a clean, safe and operable condition, as it related to the toilet seat in the girls restroom near the gym.

Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted on July 12, 2019 from approximately 11:30 am until 1:15 pm. Upon entrance there were 57 children in care and 6 staff present with children. The record review sample consisted of 6 children's records and the on site required documentation for 6 staff records. There were nine medications on site that were reviewed. Children were observed eating lunch and playing board games and large group games. The results of the inspection were reviewed with the center director. The areas of noncompliance are noted on the violation notice. Please contact the licensing inspector with any questions (757) 404-0568.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E
Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure medication shall be labeled with the child's name, the name of the medication, the dosage amount, and the time or times to be given. Evidence: One medication, medication #1 was not labeled with a child's name.

Plan of Correction: Medication will be given back to parent to get label corrected.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K
Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure tables and high chair trays were sanitized before and after each use for feeding. Evidence: Children were observed eating lunch and the center staff did not sanitize the tables after the children finished eating.

Plan of Correction: Staff will ensure that tables are properly sanitized in a safe manner.
