A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 9:55am-11:50am to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 59 children were present with 11 caregivers. Children were observed reading, learning words using picture cards, and engaging in water play outside with sprinklers and water tables. Infant care including feeding and tummy time was also observed. The school age children were participating in various centers to include an art project where they were designing flyers, playing video games, playing with blocks, reading, and dancing to music. Programming, weekly menu, required postings, emergency procedures, 5 medications, 2 allergy action plans, and 6 children?s records and 4 staff records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
