An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:00am-3:00pm. There were 125 children (infants-11yrs.) directly supervised by 50 staff. The physical plant, 10 staff records, 10 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, singing in Chinese, enjoying beach week, coloring, listening to stories, being bottle fed, napping, and eating lunch. Today's lunch consisted of baked chicken with fresh herbs, summer pesto pasta and wheat bread with milk. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. Cribs were also inspected. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Soto at maria.soto@dss.virginia.gov or (571) 835-5058.
