Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 11:00 a.m. There were 59 children in care ranging in age from 3 months to 8 years of age with ten staff actively supervising. Infants were observed having story time and during playtime on the floor area with a variety of toys. Toddlers were observed during story time and after transition to the multipurpose room "The Brook". Two year olds were observed during music and movement dancing to "sleepy bunny". Preschool and school age children were observed during breakfast. Breakfast today was cinnamon toast, boiled eggs and milk. Six staff records and six children's records were reviewed. Two medications and authorizations were reviewed. Emergency drills are up to date. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation, not all diapering area was not provided with leakproof covered receptacle for soiled linens and a foot-operated disposal system. Evidence: In the infant 2 classroom, there was no liner in the white laundry basket that had perforations in it. In the Toddler class, the diaper disposal trash can lid was broken and could not be operated by foot.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection. Staff were reminded to use a liner for the soiled linens.
