Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 9:53pm to 1:56pm. The children were observed playing outside, listening to a story and engaged in gross motor activities with Stretch-N-Grow. Eight staff records and eight children's records were reviewed.
All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today. The facilities mini buses were inspected today as well.
The center administers medication and it was reviewed.
The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.

The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. There were no repeat violations found during today?s inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on a review of medication on 09/06/2019, the center did not ensure that when an authorization for medication expires within 14 days the parent renews the authorization, or the medication is picked up by the parent. If the medication is not picked up within 14 days it is disposed of by the center.

EVIDENCE:

Authorizations for a medications belonging to Child #9 expired on 08/09/2019 and 02/13/2014. The medication was still at the center.

Plan of Correction: Sending note to dad with digital form to return as soon as possible.
