An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 2:45pm (prior to children's arrival)- 5:30pm. 50 children were in care with 3 staff members present. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, medications, the Emergency Preparedness Plan, 5 children's records and Staff certification for CPR/First Aid and Mat training were reviewed. The children were observed engaging in the following activities: handwashing, snack, playing games, reading, and completing homework. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on a review of records, each child did not have a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician within one month after attendance.
Evidence:
The record for Child #1 (start date 8/26/19) and Child #2 (start date 8/28/17) did not have documentation of a physical examination.Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for a copy of their physical.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A Description: Based on review of documentation, a current annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction was not completed.
Evidence:
1. The most recent fire inspection report available for review was dated 2/16/18.
2. School office staff stated they did not believe a fire inspection had been conducted since that date.Plan of Correction: I will talk to the principal tomorrow to make sure the principal is aware that a current fire inspection is needed.
