Technical Assistance:
Discussed sleeping mats and the use of trash can lids that are used for diapering.

Comments:
Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 9:30am and 11:45am. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 77 children with 12 staff; all ratios were incompliance. A total of 5 children?s files and 5 staff files were reviewed; a sample of 8 medications and authorizations were reviewed. The children were observed participating in a music class, playing with play dough, trucks, boxing cans for a can drive, playing on the playground and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, areas of the center were not maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
1. That is an circle (approximately 3 inches) of peeling paint on the baseboard near the circle time area of the tadpole classroom.
2. There are large areas of peeling paint on the blue shelf that stores the children's cots in the pollywogs classroom.

Plan of Correction: We'll get it painted.
