Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on November 26, 2019 from approximately 7:10 am to 8:40 am. Two staff were present with fourteen children at the onset of inspection. Five children records were reviewed. Training and information to be maintained on site were reviewed for two staff present.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on review, facility did not ensure there is an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.

Evidence: The fire inspection report available for review was dated April 6, 2017 which is more than a year old.

Plan of Correction: Will have Area Manager call the school board to get a copy.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J
Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that medication shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: A prescription and a nonprescription medication were observed in the first aid kit stored unlocked behind a curtain in the cafeteria accessible to the children in care.

Plan of Correction: The emergency kit and medication will be put in a file cabinet that can be locked.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-B
Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure each first aid kit is easily accessible to staff but not to children.

Evidence: The emergency kit (first aid kit) was observed behind a curtain in the cafeteria accessible to the children in care.

Plan of Correction: The emergency kit and medication will be put in a file cabinet that can be locked.
