Technical Assistance:
Had a discussion with site supervisor about a medication observed on-site without an authorization to administer; staff is aware that they cannot administer medication without the proper authorization from parents.

Staff were encouraged to keep a hard copy of children's emergency contact information on-site in the even of inaccessibility of the programs online record system.

Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted starting at 2:15pm and ended at 3:40pm. There were 34 children present today with 2 staff. Children were observed arriving from school, greeting staff and splitting up into groups for various organized activities (coloring, legos, art, reading), washing hands and eating snack (chocolate cherry nutrition bars and a fruit juice pouch). 7 medications with authorizations were reviewed. Medication Administration Training (MAT) and First Aid/CPR certifications were checked today. Staff records are reviewed annually in the administrative office. Please email me at with any questions or clarification needed.

A compliance history is in no way a rating for a facility.

The online compliance history includes only information after July 1, 2003. In addition, the online compliance history includes information regarding adverse actions that may be the subject of a pending appeal. An adverse action is not final until a provider has exhausted or waived all due process rights. For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.

Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
