Comments:
An unannounced mandated renewal inspection took place on 12/5/2019 between the hours of 8:15 am and 12:00 pm. On this date, there were 74 children in care between the ages of 11 months and 4 years old. The inspector observed the children eating breakfast, engage in free play, play on the playground, arrival. The inspector reviewed medications, children's records, first aid kits, and drill documentation.

Discussion with staff: about storage of medications.

Description: REPEAT VIOLATION

Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all hazardous substances as cleaning materials, in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
1. In classroom D the cabinet under the sink was unlocked and several different chemicals. There was a door that separated the children from the sink. The door was not locked.
2. In Classroom C, cleaning chemicals were being stored in cabinets below the sink (window cleaner, dish soap, and bleach), The cabinet was unlocked and at eye level to a small child.

Plan of Correction: The teachers locked the locking method during the inspection, the center administrators will monitor.
