An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:20am through 12:45pm. There were 28 children in care ages two through four years old with five teachers, and the program director. Children and staff records were reviewed. A walking of the building inside and outside was completed. Required postings, annual inspections, emergency evacuation drills, first aid kit, medication and transportation were reviewed. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including restroom routines, hand washing, lunch, and learning play activities. Violations regarding emergency equipment and required postings were identified and appear on the violation notice. The violations were discussed with the program director at the conclusion of the inspection.

Evidence:
1 - In the 2 year old room there was not a posted schedule.
2 - Staff 1 and 2 stated that the schedule was not posted.Plan of Correction: The schedule will be posted as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to ensure that there is a working battery operated radio and flashlight in each building.
Evidence:
1 - There is not a working battery operated radio or flashlight in building 1 where the school age and two year old children are cared for.
a. There were 9 two year old children present for care in building 2 during the inspection.
2 - Staff 1 stated that there was not a working battery operated radio in building 2.Plan of Correction: A battery operated radio will be obtained and maintained in building 2.
