Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Friday, December 27, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 1:40pm and completed at approximately 2:45pm. The center?s director was present and assisted the inspector throughout the inspection. Although all standards were reviewed some could not be determined, as a result of no children present during today's inspection. Children's books, toys, and equipment were inspected and found to be age appropriate and in operable condition. The restroom was inspected with the required supplies present. All rooms of the home used by children were inspected with no hazards found.

Please complete the 'plan of correction' and 'date to be corrected' for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from the date of receipt. You should specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).

The center had the following posted: license, daily schedule, emergency numbers, evacuation maps, previous inspection, and various parent information. The center does not administer medication and transportation is not provided at this time. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. During the inspection, one child's and two staff records were inspected and found complete. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 12/26/2019. The most recent shelter-in-place was documented on 12/24/2019.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-H
Description: Based on a review of documents and interview on 12/27/2019, the center was not able to demonstrate it was covered by public liability insurance for bodily injury for each center site with a minimum limit of at least $500,000 each occurrence and with a minimum limit of $500,000 aggregate.

Evidence: 1) Proof of liability insurance was not available during the inspection. 2) During interview, a member of management reported proof of liability insurance could not be located at the center while the inspector was on site.
