- Establishing preventive measures and procedures to ensure children do not come into
contact with food allergens when food is brought from home.
- Ensuring discussion with parents regarding emergency medications, reviewing medication
authorizations, and actions plans to be followed as requested by each child's physician.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 2:50pm - 4:50pm. There were 63 children directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Staff files were reviewed on an earlier date through the County of Loudoun, Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services main office. Children were observed participating in group play, working on their homework, eating snack, and playing outside. The cafeteria was found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and adequately supplied with equipment and supplies. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on observation, cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
Cleaning supplies were observed being stored on a shelf inside a closet within the CASA office space. The door to the closet has a lock, but the closet door was not locked during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: All cleaning supplies will be locked when not in use.

Description: Based on observation, cleaning supplies were stored above food service supplies.

Evidence:
Cleaning supplies (disinfectant cleaner, all-purpose cleaner) were stored in the program's storage closet on a shelf above paper plates and single-service utensils.

Plan of Correction: No cleaning supplies will be stored above food service supplies.
