An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on January 15, 2020 from approximately 10:30 am to 12:50 pm. Upon arrival to the facility, there were 41 children present with nine staff members. The following items were reviewed as a part of the inspection: indoor areas, supervision, administration, health and safety, physical plant, required documentation, and emergency supplies, procedures and required postings. One medications was reviewed. Children were observed during story time, working on the letter S, and recognizing colors.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Base on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure that areas of equipment of the center inside, was maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Evidence:
In the hallway the desk's file drawer was broken.Plan of Correction: The file cabinet will be fixed.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-1 Description: Based on observation and staff interview the licensee did not ensure there was for children from birth to 16 months : one staff member for every four children.
Evidence:
In the infant room, at 10:50 am there was 5 infants with one staff. Staff #1 confirmed there was 5 infant and someone was coming back. Another staff arrived to the classroom at approximately 11:05 am.Plan of Correction: There was enough staff to cover that room. As soon as we noticed that another child came in we put another teacher in the classroom .
