An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on January 22, 2020 from approximately 3:30 pm to 5:20 pm. Two staff were present with twenty children at the onset of inspection. Additional staff arrived during inspection. Four children and two staff records were reviewed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-B Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure the first aid kit is inaccessible to children in care.
Evidence: The first aid kit was stored in an unlocked cabinet behind the check in table in the cafeteria which is accessible to children.Plan of Correction: A lock will be purchased and kept on the first aid kit.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K Description: Based on observation, facility did not ensure tables are sanitized before and after use for feeding.
Evidence: Staff was observed spraying the table with a soap/water solution and wiping it with a paper towel before the children sat down to eat. The tables were not sanitized before and after the afternoon snack.Plan of Correction: Staff will spray the table with a disinfectant solution and allow it to air dry.
