Comments:
The Licensing Inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing office on January 27, 2020. The playground and equipment outside was inspected. Accident reports were reviewed. Staff records were reviewed. Interviews were conducted with staff relating to the allegations of roughly handling children, staff qualifications, accident report and outside playground equipment. The allegations of roughly handling children could not be validated. The information gathered during this investigation about playground equipment, staff qualifications and lack of accident reporting supports the allegations, so the complaint is determined to be valid. The violations and plan of correction was reviewed with the center director. If you have any questions you may contact me at Margaret.allworth@dss.virginia.gov or 703-209-3521.
