Technical Assistance:
We reviewed the requirements for documenting circumstances of injuries.

We talked about trimming low tree branches when they are low enough for contact during outside activities on the sidewalk or grassy areas used for activities.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during today's unannounced monitoring inspection conducted from 10:25 AM to 4:00 PM. Today, there were sixty-five children, ages infancy through five years, in care during the day with twelve to thirteen staff. It was reported that one school age child received supervision before school this morning. Eighteen children arrived for after school activities and were supervised by two staff. I viewed program activities, daily routines, infant care and records, formula records, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, posted information, equipment, nutrition, meals/snacks, medication, diapering procedures, diaper ointment, ten records for children, injury records, emergency supplies and drill records, nine staff records, staff qualifications, staff training, agency inspection reports, insurance, indoor and outdoor areas. The children have enjoyed a variety of age appropriate toys and play equipment. Regular activities have included art, stories, group discussions, music, and activity time with the adult center. This week's planned activities included themes about families and emotions. The older preschool children enjoyed yoga inside since it was raining outside. Buggy rides were provided for the youngest children in the hallways. Staff were observed providing frequent interactions with children and responding to individual needs for care and attention. Organized record keeping systems have been utilized.

Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259
