Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-1:00pm. There were 36 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 9 direct care staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed having circle time, eating snack, and transitioning to outdoor play. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a sufficient amount of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on record review, the center did not implement a monthly practice of evacuation drills.

Evidence: There was no documentation of fire drills completed for December 2019 and January 2020.

Plan of Correction: Moving forward, we will be sure to document all fire and shelter-and-place drills.
