An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 9:00am to 12:15pm in conjunction with a monitoring inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Five staff records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice Training and current certification in First Aid and CPR and were in compliance. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records were reviewed for allergy care plans. The last lockdown drill was documented on 7/25/19. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at email@example.com or 540-905-2062.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11 Description: Based on review of documentation and interview with the Director, the center did not obtain a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: Child A, with a diagnosed food allergy to eggs and milk, did not have a written allergy care plan on site. Plan of Correction: We will ask the mother for this today.

For compliance history prior to July 1, 2003, or information regarding the status of pending adverse actions, please contact the Licensing Inspector listed in the facility's information. The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) is not responsible for any errors in or omissions from the compliance history information.Virginia Quality is a voluntary quality rating and improvement system for early care and education facilities serving children ages birth through pre-K.
