Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 7:20 am until 8:20 am. There were 18 children directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff training records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play to include building with unit blocks, playing with playdough, and playing card games.. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, one child's record did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
Child 4's record did not contain addresses for the two persons listed as emergency contacts.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents to provide the missing information.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on a review of medication, the center did not have procedures in place to prevent the administration of outdated medication,
Evidence:
The emergency medication for Child 6 expired in January 2020.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents to provide unexpired medication.
