Comments:
Today an unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the Center Director. This visit took place in the morning between 11:10-1 there were 8 children with 1 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having free play, arts & craft, and afternoon dismissal. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, gym, children and staff records, fire drill log, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, a cleaning agent was found accessible to children. Evidence: Upon arrival, a cleaning agent was found on a table in the childcare area unlocked and accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: Staff immediately placed the cleaning agent in a cabinet. Director will provide training to staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A
Description: Based on observation of the children, the children hands were being cleaned with disinfect wipes instead of running water and soap. Evidence: Upon arrival, children were observed cleaning their hands with disinfectant wipes.

Plan of Correction: Staff immediately stated that they use them to clean the children's hands & feet. Staff took the children to the restroom to wash their hands. Center Director stated that they will provide training to staff on appropriate hand washing procedures.
