An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 6/5/15 between 2:00 and 5:00. There were seven children present with the provider for a total of 16 points. The provider left to drop some children off and pickup one child from school. The inspector spoke with the provider and with the children who were present. The children were observed playing in the play room with cars, washing hands and eating snack. Snack today was peanut butter sandwiches, grapes, cheese and apple juice. Last evacuation drill was on 5/15/15 and a shelter-in-place drill was conducted on 5/19/15. The pool was checked and found to be locked up. Provider stated that they were removing the pool this weekend. All required documents were posted including license, inspection information, menu, and evacuation map.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-290
Description: The provider failed to ensure that all sharp knives and utensils were inaccessible to the children. Evidence: The inspector observed several sharp knives in the top kitchen drawer between the refrigerator and stove. There was no child proof latch on this drawer. This is a different drawer from the drawer that had contain sharp knives at the last inspection. Provider moved all the contents of the drawer to a high cabinet in the laundry room.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: The provider failed to replace a child-resistant cover on one electric outlet. Evidence: The inspector observed that one electric outlet in the hallway was missing a child-resistant cover. The provider stated that she had removed the cover to vacuum. She replaced the cover during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
