Reviewed with provider developmentally appropriate equipment, and specifically when children should be moved from high chairs to child size table and chairs.
An unannounced inspection for license renewal was conducted today. Six children were present with the provider and assistant. Total 18 points with two caregivers. The children were observed playing with puzzles, video games, floor toys and eating lunch. Four new children have been enrolled since the last inspection. Their records were reviewed today. Record keeping has improved, and is more organized. Both the provider and assistant have obtained over 20 hours of training this past year. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that all medication is kept in a locked place. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector observed a bottle of prescription medication for a household member in an unlocked cabinet in the bathroom that is used by the children. Plan of Correction: The medication was removed and placed in a locked cabinet at the time of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation of a physical exam prior to a child's attendance or within 30 days after the first day of attendance. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that there was no documentation of a physical exam for Child #1 who started in care on 07/16/2015. Plan of Correction: Documentation of a physical exam for this child will be obtained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain documentation of immunizations before a child attended the family day home. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that there was no documentation of immunizations for Child #1, who started in care on 7/16/2015. Plan of Correction: Documentation of immunizations for this child will be obtained.
