Discussed the following standard: determining the need for additional caregiver.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. Observed 6 children (18 points) with one caregiver until the provider arrived at the Family Day Home (FDH) at approximately 9:45am. Ratio was not in compliance from 9:30am to 9:45am. A sample of 4 children's records, 2 caregiver records, and 1 household member record were reviewed. The physical plant, emergency supplies and procedures were also reviewed. No medications were reported to be on site. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: circle time, reading, free play, and infant care. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the provider. Inspection conducted 9:30am-10:20am. Description: Based upon documentation reviewed, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly. Evidence: Emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced on July and August, 2015.

Description: Based upon interview, the menu for the current one-week period was not given to parents, posted or placed in an area accessible to parents. Evidence: The menu for this current week was not posted. The provider confirmed that a menu was not done yet.

Description: Based upon observations made, documentation reviewed, and interview, the provider did not ensure that a caregiver did not exceed 16 points by using the point system. Evidence: Upon arrival to the Family Day Home (FDH) at approximately 9:30am, there were 6 children under the supervision of one caregiver with a combined 18 points (2 infants, 2 toddlers, and 2 preschoolers); exceeding the point system by 2 points. Caregiver #1 was supervising these children alone until the provider arrived at the FDH around 9:45am. The provider stated that she was visiting her daughter who lives next door.
