Conducted an announced initial study with the provider and two children, age two years-old, for a total of four points. The children were having free play during the inspection. All of the household records and four children's records were reviewed. The provider is current in First Aid and CPR. There are two new cribs, mats, toys, and furnishings in the family day home basement area. The provider is current First Aid and CPR. Start time: 9:00am End time: 11:20am
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B Description: Based on a review of four children's records, one record was incomplete. Evidence: Child A's record was missing a second emergency contact. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she will get this corrected by today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on a direct observation of the family day home, the front door area is in disrepair. Evidence: The screen door is broke and their are three sharp hinges and screws accessible to the children, posing as a safety hazard. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she will have the screen door area repaired and/or removed by today.
