An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m. with the provider and one assistant. Eight children, ages 10 months, 20 months, 21 months, 22 months, 2 years, 2 years, 3 years, and 3 years, were in the care of the two staff. Children were observed building with Duplos, playing in the pretend kitchen, having circle time, and singing songs. The provider reported that the morning snack was grapes, crackers, cheese, and water. One staff record was reviewed and in compliance. One household member record was reviewed and in compliance. Four children's records were reviewed and in compliance. The last fire drill was 11/2/15. The last shelter-in-place drill was 2/12/15. Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that one caregiver does not exceed 16 points (point system based on ages of children) of children in care. Evidence: At the beginning of the inspection at 9:30 a.m., Staff A was caring for eight children for a total of 21 points. Staff B arrived at 9:50 a.m.

Plan of Correction: The provider will try to have an assistant on hand right away should this situation occur again.
