- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted February 26, 2016 from approximately 11:20am to 1:40pm to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. Some but not all standards were reviewed. During the inspection, there were nine non-resident children along with two resident children present for a total of 28 points. Two caregivers were observed supervising the children. The provider?s home has three primary rooms for the children to use along with a bathroom. Children were observed eating lunch. Lunch consisted of hot dogs with buns, sweet potato fries, fruit and milk. After lunch the children were observed playing with toys, singing songs, watching children?s programs on T.V. and transitioning into nap time. Caregivers? were observed engaging children in conversations. The infant in care was observed being held and fed.
During the inspection the emergency preparedness plan, emergency drills and emergency supplies were inspected including the first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio. The provider stated during the inspection, medication is not administered. Transportation is not being provided at this time. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on interview and documentation review, the caregiver did not ensure the emergency evacuation drill for January 2016 was documented. Caregiver #1 stated an emergency evacuation drill was completed in January but it was not documented. Plan of Correction: Per caregiver - I will make sure the drills are documented when they are completed.
