- Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on using swaddling for young infants (under 6 months) to help with the startle reflex but to discontinue as soon as the child is able to roll over. All children (under 12 months of age) who are present must have an assigned crib available at all times throughout the day.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted from 9:45-11:15. Nine children were present with three caregivers for twenty eight points which is within ratios for supervision. The home has two rooms for day care with one primarily for infants as well as a bathroom and entry way into the lower level of the home. The backyard play area was not in use today due to the snow and muddy conditions. Lunch is provided from each child's home. Bottles were labeled with child's name and date. Children were observed resting, working on colors and coloring as well as free play and diapering. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 10 calendar days from date of receipt. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me.
