Technical Assistance:
Discussed with Provider that all caregivers are required to read, speak & write in English.

Today (3/2/16) an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the PRovider. This visit took place in the morning between 11:00-1:30 there were 8 children with the Provider (25 points) within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having free play, cooking, playing with blocks, lunch and nap time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. Lunch today consisted of vegetable soup, fruit and milk. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920
Description: Based on observation of the menu, the family day home did not have a menu posted for the current one-week period. Evidence: The menu posted did not include a date or month and did not reflect was what was being served for lunch today.

Plan of Correction: Provider added the month and date to the menu during this inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on a review of the children records, one record was incomplete. Evidence: Child record #1 did not have the fathers work address.

Plan of Correction: Director will ask parent for the work address.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-130
Description: Based on interview and observation, one caregiver did not meet the general qualifications. Evidence: Staff #1 was unable to speak, read, and write in English. She was unable to communicate with the inspector.

Plan of Correction: Provider stated she is currently taking classes but needs more time. Provider stated that she will see if she can find another assistant.
