An unannounced renewal inspection of the facility and records was conducted from 11:41am ? 1:30am. There were 10 children present equaling 28 points with two assistant caregivers. The licensee was not present at the onset of the inspection. She did arrive at 12:15p. Children?s, household and assistant records was reviewed. Children were observed in lunch, handwashing, transitions, provider lead and child lead activities. The inspector reviewed the posted license, inspection results, menu, and fire drill documentation. The provider reports that there is not any medication being administered. The following violation was observed and will appear on the violation notice: lack of documentation of injury.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-840-A Description: Based on interview the provider failed to record in the child's record an injury or accident sustained by a child while at the family day home that required first aid. Evidence: The provider reports that on January 15, 2016, 10 month old child 1, was injured while playing with a toy. However, an injury report was written. Plan of Correction: Going forward the provider will document all injuries as required.
