The licensing administrator and the licensing inspector conducted an unannounced focused monitoring inspection from 3:00pm - 4:15pm. Upon arrival, there were four children in care. Three additional children arrived after school. Seven children were in care during the inspection for a total of eight points with one caregiver. The children were observed at free play, having snacks and the school age children were observed doing homework. No records were reviewed. One violation from the previous inspection had been corrected. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to ensure that children do not eat while walking. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the preschool children walking around eating cookies which could present a choking hazard.

Plan of Correction: In the future, the provider will make sure that the children sit at the table when they eat and will watch them closely to make sure they stay seated while eating.

Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to ensure that children's hands were washed before eating. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the school age children eating a snack. The children did not wash their hands before eating.

Plan of Correction: When the provider became aware that the children had not washed their hands, she ask the children to go and wash their hands. In the future, the provider will remind the children to always wash their hands before eating.
