An initial licensing inspection was conducted on March 31, 2016, by appointment, between the hours of approximately 9:55 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. There were no children enrolled or in the care of the provider on this date. One resident child was present in the home. The provider's record and one household member's record were updated. The home and outdoor play area were toured, available records/documents and caregiver training (first aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation) were reviewed and safety equipment was inspected (first aid kit, land line telephone, flashlight, fire extinguisher and radio). Posted information (daily schedule, emergency telephone numbers and emergency evacuation diagram), storage of cleaning supplies/hazardous substances and verification of rabies immunization for the dog were reviewed/observed. No violations of licensing standards were cited during this initial inspection. Areas of the licensing standards discussed included: land line telephone, storage of cleaning supplies/hazardous substances in the classroom and office, storage of children's medications (if applicable), fire inspection and zoning approval (prior to recommendation for license issuance). Thank you for your time and assistance during the licensing process. Please contact me if you have questions concerning this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.
