An unannounced inspection for license renewal was conducted today. Five children were present with the provider and assistant. Total 14 points with two caregivers. The preschool age children were resting and eating snack, and the infants were playing and being fed. The assistant is new since the last inspection. Her record was reviewed and found complete. Two children are also new since the last inspection. Their records were reviewed at the time of the inspection. The violations cited at the last inspection have been corrected. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-100-A Description: Based on record review, there was no documentation of a physical exam for one child who started in care in November 2015. Plan of Correction: Documentation of a physical exam will be obtained from the parent.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the areas and furnishings of the home were maintained in a safe condition. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector observed a microwave oven sitting on the floor in the room where children eat. The provider stated the oven was not working. Plan of Correction: The microwave oven was removed from the room at the time of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-260-E Description: Based on observation, the inspector found a bucket full of water in the bathroom that was accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: The bucket of water was emptied at the time of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that potentially poisonous substances are stored in areas inaccessible to children. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector observed a bottle of rubbing alcohol in the bathroom accessible to the children. Plan of Correction: The bottle of alcohol was removed from the bathroom at the time of the inspection.
