22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 7:22am-8:15am. There were 4 children (4 points) directly supervised by 1 staff. The home, staff record, 5 children?s records, 3 household member?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed arriving to care, reading books, and taking part in individual activities. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 10 calendar days from today. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-C Description: Based on review, the provider failed to ensure that monthly emergency evacuation drills are documented. Evidence: Reviewed the provider's evacuation drill log and found that there was no documentation of an evacuation drill practiced in the month of May. Plan of Correction: Performed monthly drill
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280 Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to ensure that potentially poisonous substances are kept inaccessible to children. Evidence: 1) Observed that there was a bottle of lighter fluid on a shelf on the lower patio. 2) Observed that there was a container of soft scrub accessible to children in an unlocked lower cabinet in the bathroom.
