54.1-3408 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the provider beginning at 10:25 AM and ending at 12:15 PM. There were five children in care ages, 9 months, 20 months, 2, 3, and 3 years old for a total of 13 points. The children were observed during indoor free play, reviewing colors and letters, painting, and playing outside. The provider's, two household member's, and four children's records were reviewed and determined to be complete. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were inspected. The most recent escape drill is conducted on August 22, 2016. The licensing inspector and provider discussed varying the time of the monthly emergency escape drills. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-940-B Description: Based on observation it was determined that the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer compartments were not being monitored. Evidence: There was no thermometer available to monitor the temperature of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she would purchase a new thermometer.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-690-D Description: Based on observation it was determined that not all of the diapering procedures were being followed. Evidence: The diapering pad had a tear in it which made it an absorbent surface. Plan of Correction: The provider stated that she would purchase a new diapering pad.
