Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today beginning at 10:25am. 5 children (11pts) were present with 1 caregiver. The facility was within ratio requirements. 3 children's records, caregiver and household member records, emergency evacuation drills, first aid kits, menus and policies were all reviewed. The facility has an abundance of developmentally appropriate supplies. The children were observed engaging in circle time activities with the caregiver. The current theme is food and the caregiver used flash cards for the children to express their knowledge of various foods. They danced to a song called "Mashed Potatoes" and watched a short video on healthy foods. The facility was clean and well organized. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please feel free to contact me at stephanie.togni@dss.virginia.gov.
