Discussed the following standards: medication and hand washing.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. Observed 4 children (13 points) directly supervised by 2 caregivers. Ratio and supervision were in compliance. A sample of 2 children's records, 2 caregiver records, and 4 household member records were reviewed. The physical plant, medications, emergency supplies and procedures were also reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: free play, playing with puppets, doing yoga, and diapering. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D
Description: Based upon observations made, medications were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1) A bottle of vaporizing chest rub was observed on top of a cabinet in the children's bathroom. 2) Infant tylenol was observed inside an unlocked first aid cabinet located in the children's playroom.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-680-B
Description: Based upon observations made, a caregiver did not ensure that children's hands were washed with liquid soap and warm running water after diapering. Evidence: Caregiver #1 was observed diapering three children (Child A, B, C). The children's hands were not washed after diapering.
