Technical Assistance:
Discussed training hours, located the training on the web site and gave the provider other resources for training. Discussed crib use, the provider has a baby in care and she does have cribs available but prefers to have the child sleeping in a newborn rock and play sleeper. Discussed the provider always being within sight and sound supervision.

Comments:
The provider is present with an assistant and husband with 10 children. A total of 20 points. The children were observed finishing snack, playing with lego's and reading. Lots of interaction between children and caregivers observed. Today's snack was Crackers and girl scout cookies with juice. The provider has lots of materials with the children to explore. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-B
Description: The provider failed to conduct shelter in place drills in the last 12 months. Evidence: Based on the review of the emergency drill records and interview with caregivers, the provider did not conduct any shelter in place drills in the last year.

Plan of Correction: We had a miscommunication and thought we did not have to do them. we will make sure we do them twice a year and write them down.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: The provider and assistant did not get the required 16 hours of training in the last licensing period. Evidence: Based on the review of training records , the provider has taken 2 hours of training between January 2016 and today's date and the assistant who started with the provider in January of 2016 has not taken any training.

Plan of Correction: We will start on the training right away, taking online training. There has been a huge issue with getting in to classes. I will make sure we get the 16 hours of training.
