Discussed Subsidy inspections.

Comments:
A Initial Licensing Inspection was conducted beginning at 9:45 and ending at 11:45. There were 3 daycare children in care and two grandchildren who live in the home, present with the provider and her assistant. Observed all three levels of the home and the daycare area. The backyard is fenced with play things available. The daycare is in the basement level. Walkout to the backyard. Reviewed family files and children's files.- complete Emergency escape drills and shelter in place drills have been done since January. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation, there was a portion of one crib with sharp metal sticking out. Evidence: The brown Crib had a small metal piece stick out on the right hand section that coukld cause a laceration.

Plan of Correction: The provider will hammer the piece so that it is flat.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-280
Description: Based on observation, it was determined that there were multiple cleaning products and personal hygiene products on top of the cabinet. Evidence: The cabinet above the toilet in the bathroom used by the children, had cleaning supplies and beauty products accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: All cleaning products and other supplies will be removed and kept in a locked place.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-430-A
Description: Based on observation, it was determined that there were not gates at the stairs. Evidence: There is no gate at the steps from the main floor to the upstairs and no gate at the bottom of the stairs in the daycare area.

Plan of Correction: The gates will be put up this weekend.
