Technical Assistance:
Discussed "spring cleaning" in backyard, annual trainings and the importance of documentation.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal study was conducted today between 9:30am and 11:20am. Upon arrival, 5 children (8 points) were present with 1 caregiver. Another caregiver joined during the inspection. The physical space, Emergency Preparedness Plan, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, 3 children's records, and caregiver/household member records were reviewed. The caregiver is MAT trained. No medications were on site today. Household pet records were also reviewed. Required documents were posted. The children were observed playing with legos, dancing and interacting with the caregivers. Interactions were positive. The site contained an abundance of developmentally appropriate materials. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at stephanie.togni@dss.virginia.gov.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-780-B
Description: Based on review of records, the caregiver did not obtain a parent's signed acknowledgment of an annual review of the children's records. Evidence: 2 out of 3 records reviewed did not contain an annual review.

Plan of Correction: I will ask all parents to update the records this week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on review of records, the caregiver did not obtain 16 clock hours of training annually. Evidence: The caregiver stated she did not obtain the training.

Plan of Correction: I will sign up and start taking training this weekend at the library.
