The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:15am - 12:30pm. There were ten children in care for a total of twenty seven points with two caregivers. The children were observed at free play, watching cartoons and eating lunch. Two caregivers and two children's records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-350-E Description: Based on observation, the family day home failed to maintain the temperature of the hot water at less than 120 degrees. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the bathroom and used the thermometer to obtain the temperature of the hot water. The temperature of the hot water was measured at 127 degrees. Plan of Correction: The provider will turn down the hot water heater to ensure the temperature of the hot water does not exceed 120 degrees.
