Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 10:00am - 1:30pm. There were seven children in care for a total of seventeen points with three caregivers. The children were observed playing with the available toys, watching cartoons and during lunch. Three caregivers and two children's records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at (276) 608-3758. Thank you for your cooperation.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-500-C
Description: Based on observation and measurement, the family day home failed to have six feet of space separating the outdoor play structure and the fence. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the outdoor play equipment. The provider has recently installed a new play structure. There was 3 1/2 feet of fall space separating the swings and the fence and 2 1/2 feet separating the end of the slide and the fence.

Plan of Correction: The provider will move the play set and the fence to provide six feet of space between the structure and fence. The children will not use this equipment until the play set and fence are moved to allow adequate space.
