Comments:
An announced monitoring inspection was conducted at the request of a modification to the license due to an address change. A tour of the home was conducted. The licensee is having concrete poured around the side of the house as an entrance to the daycare area of the home. The anticipated completion is Wednesday.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation the licensee failed to ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe manner:
Evidence:
1. One tall cubbies were not secured and posed a tipping hazard.

Plan of Correction: A barrier will be placed around the AC units, the cubby secured and eye hooks will be placed on the top half of the doors when opened to ensure there are no pinch hazards. They also have a lock to keep them in place when not in use.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-A
Description: Based on observation the licensee failed to ensure small electrical appliances were unplugged. Evidence: The coffee maker was plugged in during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: The licensee unplugged the coffee pot and will ensure all small appliances are unplugged during daycare hours.
