Comments:
Licensing Inspector arrived at 11:00am and departed 1:15pm to conduct a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were two children, ages five and six years old, with the provider. Children were observed watching children's programming and playing freely. The sample size was two children's records and the providers' record.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-012-A
Description: Based on review, prior to approval as a subsidy vendor, the vendor did not complete Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: The vendor has not completed the Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care.

Plan of Correction: Provider will complete the training.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-B
Description: Based on review, the vendor did not ensure that the emergency preparedness plan contained all required procedural components. Evidence: The vendor's emergency preparedness plan did not include the following components: Evacuation: Accommodations or special requirements for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs to ensure their safety during evacuation or relocation and procedure to reunite children with a parent or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child. Shelter-in-place: Accommodations or special requirements for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs to ensure their safety during evacuation or relocation and procedure to reunite children with a parent or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child. Lockdown procedures: Methods to alert caregivers and emergency responders; Methods to secure the family day home and designated lockdown locations; Methods to account for all children in the lockdown locations; Methods of communication with parents and emergency responders; Accommodation or special requirements for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs to ensure their safety during lockdown; and Procedure to reunite children with a parent or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child.

Plan of Correction: Provider will update the plan.

Standard #: VENDHOM-000-029-C
Description: Based on observation and inspection of the family day home, the vendor did not ensure that emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place procedures/maps shall be posted in a location conspicuous to caregiver and children on each floor of each building. Evidence: The posted map did not include shelter-in-place locations and procedures.

Plan of Correction: Provider will update the map today.
